Bobby is a regular young boy whose life is dramatically changed by an auto accident. His father takes him on a trip to the South Pacific to recover, but he soon finds himself alone on a deserted island. Armed with only his wits and his father's books, he soon learns the principles of self-reliance and math that not only help him to resolve dangerous issues, but equip him for his future life back on the mainland. Upon his rescue, the math skills he learned on the island help him to become rich, earn his PhD, and eventually transform into a hero whose abilities are turned to the issues of resolving difficult crimes and fantastic problems. This is the story of how the Innovative Dr. Knowledge came into being...
Our children are falling behind in essential math skills. A recent report stated that 66% of students in grade 8 could not do the required math. We are hoping to make the world of math exciting for kids again! How? By teaching math via the format of a comic book, and a hero who is able to solve fantastic crimes and problems via his exceptional math skills. Our ultimate goal is to motivate children to love, respect, and have a desire to do math.
