In the year 3012, society is made up of two classes: the rich and the poor. It’s better to be rich and guilty than poor and innocent. The wealthy have gotten away with too many heinous crimes for years without any retribution. Three years ago, a group of vigilantes called Aequitas decided to form a new justice system. When they felt justice failed, they doled out the punishment themselves, righting the wrongs in society by their own methods. The Aequitas have an unusual way of determining who is guilty or innocent. This includes kidnapping those from the surrounding area where the crime was committed to make up the jury.
