Ray falls for Lori, who falls for Art, who falls for a slice of pizza. Unexpected encounters with a grizzly bear and a five-year-old girl complicate the journey.

The second chapter of the Cycling Memoirs series, Romance a la Road details the adventures, foibles, mishaps, and romances of cyclists competing in a cross-country race. The characters are fictionalized, with names changed, though the events depicted are based on actual bicycle touring experiences in Europe, Australia, and North America.
