Probably the most standard-comic-book-superhero story ABC has ever published, this is basically a spin on the Captain America story so far. There’s even the promise of the ultimate superhero cliche in the cliffhanger – the misunderstanding fight – when two heroes beat the tar out of each other rather than take a moment to realize they’re both on the same side.

I’m not sure if this will continue or not, but if it does, I’d suggest they lean into the fact that the 2020s are a very different place from the 1940s, particularly for a woman, so following the main character’s experiences navigating that transition would probably be even more interesting than just another superhero brawl.
