The sorceress, Felicia, takes on an apprentice – a young girl on the run from some tragedy in her past. With Felicia’s aid, Sandy finds safety and security, first in the shop of a local glassmaker, then in Felicia’s tower itself where the girl is taught the rudimentaries of magic. But secrets have a way of making themselves known, and it isn’t long before Sandy’s past comes hunting her… and Felicia has to save the girl, even though it may come at a heavy cost.
