Remember when comics were fun? Big Bang Comics does. Big Bang is a retro series, honoring the creators, styles and characters from the Golden and Silver Ages right up to modern times. Enjoy 80 years of faux comics history in the pages of Big Bang Comics, which began as a mini-series at Caliber Press in 1994, moved to Image Comics for about 50 issues and one-shots, and most recently as a series of annuals from AC Comics.

If you like classic superhero adventure and truly “all-ages” comic books, you need to order this issue right now! This is an absolutely packed issue that features action, likable characters, a fun story, and fantastic, clean, professional-looking art all in one crisp, tidy package. And, even though, this is issue #8, this is a completely “new-reader-friendly” book, to boot! If this is your first dip into the Big Bang Comics universe, you’ll feel right at home, and all you want is order the other eight (at the time of this review) issues. Seriously, folks, this whole series is just pure superhero fun in the style you think you remember, and even if you don’t, it’s in the style that you wish more superhero books would be!

Good stuff! I got a Silver Age rush from the splash pages of the heroes assembled. The Alliance of Evil is a good bad gang, created fresh for this story.
Also, some clever and intelligent use of Greek myth. The dramatic and mythic splash page of U.S. Angel versus the Chimera is worth the price of admission.
